This course covers our Foundation Partnership Training curriculum in a fun, accessible group class format. Topics include: Training language, leash handling and loose leash walking, obedience commands: Sit (with stay), Down (with stay), Place, Come, Heel position.
Starting Sunday, August 2nd, Foundation Class will be a 4-week curriculum, beginning on the 1st Sunday of every month!
Classes are SUNDAYS 3:30-4:30PM at Legion Baseball Field in Florence, MT.
Puppies must be at least 12 weeks old and have at least their first two rounds of DHPP vaccines to participate in class. All dogs over 16 weeks old must be current on DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
This is an on-leash only class. While no training experience is necessary, group classes are not suited for dogs with serious behavior problems. Intermediate/Advanced Monthly Drop-In Classes
For students who have completed our Foundation Training Curriculum (either via group class, private lesson, or board & train), we offer drop-in classes at rotating locations to proof skills in real-world environments. Some of these classes will have special topics, others will be more of a guided outing.
Examples of Training locations/topics include: Pet-friendly stores, Missoula Downtown, Pet-friendly outdoor dining, Out To Lunch at Caras Park, etc.

Service Dog Outings
Service Dog Outings offer a chance for our Service-Dog-Teams-In-Training to practice public access skills in real environments and scenarios, and around other dog/handler teams in a safe and structured way. These outings are hosted at community locations around Missoula such as Southgate Mall and the Missoula Public Library, among others.
Service Dog Teams must have passed their Canine Good Citizen test and begun Public Access Training to participate in these outings, or demonstrate equivalent skill (Talk to your trainer if you’re not sure!).
Our service dog outings are also open to teams outside of our organization, provided they meet the minimum training requirements.

Group Hikes
These are trainer-led, 1 hour hikes for up to 6 dogs and handlers!
Hikes are available to all current boarding, daycare, and training clients on rotating days and times.
Two options:
- Drop-Off (Trainer handles) – Drop your dog off at the kennel 30 minutes before the start of the hike and the trainer leading that hike will take your dog and handle them! ($30)
- Hike with your dog! – Meet at the hiking location at the hike start time and go on a hike with your dog, guided by the trainer! ($20)
A couple of other important bits of info:
- Your first hike is a trial hike – there is a pass/fail metric based on your dog’s ability to stay with the group, recall when asked, and handle the distraction of other dogs, hikers, and other trail users.
- If you don’t pass, that’s ok! You can sign up for a couple of training lessons to help your dog be able to go in the future.
- If you have not been through our Off Leash training program, we ask that your dog hikes on a long line or retractable leash.
- All off leash hikers should be wearing their remote training collars for safety.

AKC Canine Good Citizen & Other Title Testing
We have AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluators on staff here at WRCP, so we offer semi-regular group tests for the Canine Good Citizen, as well as AKC Community Canine, Canine Good Citizen-Urban, Trick Dog Titles, and others that fall under the CGC evaluator umbrella.
These are great ways to test your dog’s knowledge and training and earn titles. Many of these title tests will have an accompanying class to go with them, but not always, and you’re not required to take the class to take the test.
$20/test
