Whats Happening at WRCP?
Glad you asked! Below is our calendar of current and upcoming events!
On the calendar, you will find various types of events, classes, and activities. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to get more information, or click on the calendar event to see details and sign up!
Group Hikes
These are trainer-led, 1 hour hikes for up to 6 dogs and handlers!
Hikes are available to all current boarding, daycare, and training clients on rotating days and times (see calendar below).
Two options:
- Drop-Off (Trainer handles) – Drop your dog off at the kennel 30 minutes before the start of the hike and the trainer leading that hike will take your dog and handle them! ($30)
- Hike with your dog! – Meet at the hiking location at the hike start time and go on a hike with your dog, guided by the trainer! ($20)
A couple of other important bits of info:
- Your first hike is a trial hike – there is a pass/fail metric based on your dog’s ability to stay with the group, recall when asked, and handle the distraction of other dogs, hikers, and other trail users.
- If you don’t pass, that’s ok! You can sign up for a couple of training lessons to help your dog be able to go in the future.
- If you have not been through our Off Leash traninig program, we ask that your dog hikes on a long line or retractable leash.
- All off leash hikers should be wearing their remote training collars for safety.

Specialty Group Classes
These are drop-in group classes with rotating fun or specialty topics! The topic of the class will be in the event description.
Currently, these classes are ONLY available to clients who have completed our Foundation training program or equivalent.
This is a fun way to continue training with your dog once you’ve conquered the basics, or as a way to test out specialty topics you might be interested in learning more about!
$20/class

AKC Canine Good Citizen & Other Title Testing
We have AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluators on staff here at WRCP, so we offer monthly group tests for the Canine Good Citizen, as well as AKC Community Canine, Canine Good Citizen-Urban, Trick Dog Titles, and others that fall under the CGC evaluator umbrella.
These are great ways to test your dog’s knowledge and training and earn titles.
$20/test

Most of our events are for current clients only, and some are limited to clients who have completed training programs with us – all of that information, including links to sign up for classes, will be in the event descriptions below.
We also need a minimum of 2 people registered to host our group events. If we don’t meet our minimum requirements 24 hours before the start of the event, the event will be cancelled and anyone who has signed up will be notified. We also may cancel outdoor events due to inclement weather in extreme situations.
